Louisville football gave up an extremely disappointing 46-27 Friday night fight against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets This can be considered one of the most disappointing losses of the Satterfield era
From start to finish, unruly errors and turnovers plagued the Cardinals against the Yellow Jackets now 2-2 Louisville is 1-3 on the Yikes season
There are certainly many issues with this team There are some that are clear as day and others that are not so clear All emotion aside, let’s take a look at this team through a positional scope

The discussion about Malik Cunningham is scattered across all areas, with many (naturally) particularly disappointed with his game in the last two games against Pittsburgh and now Georgia Tech
The Georgia Tech game was certainly an average game, at least for Cunningham Ean Pfeifer dropped a first road penny Later a crucial game that would have been a first try was dropped by Dez Fitzpatrick
I feel like Cunningham’s problems with corner roads and cross roads are very real But it’s not a question of talent Let me explain
Cunningham seems out of sync with his receivers In particular he and Tutu Atwell seem to have lost some chemistry I don’t know how it went after last year But it’s certainly obvious to me now
Cunningham didn’t see Atwell on deep crossings fast enough A few times you could see Cunningham throw the ball late to Atwell The ball was on the money on those cross roads The problem is he’s a second or two late and Atwell was off bounds with no chance of catching the ball (though accurate)
On corner roads, regardless of distance, Cunningham struggled This is a timing and placement issue Cunningham has to anticipate where receivers will start to break on their corner and the right amount of contact is a more difficult throw than it seems
Cunningham thrives in areas where he can utilize the action of play and throw ropes that don’t require timing On timing routes, Cunningham and receivers struggle If Louisville can get that chemistry between Cunningham and receivers (especially Atwell), this Cunningham-led offense will start again
