World News – US – Subway service resumes with delays after train derailment near Barclays Center in Brooklyn


BROOKLYN – Subway service was temporarily halted Thursday morning after a train derailment in Brooklyn, FDNY and MTA said

According to the FDNY, the report arrived at around 4:10 am for a « minor train derailment » near the Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center station

No injuries were reported, but the incident resulted in numerous delays and service changes along the D, N, Q and R metro lines

Just after 8 a.m. the MTA tweeted that there were residual delays on lines D, N and R, and that the D and N service was « fully operational », while warning passengers to expect to longer waits as the trains return on time

The MTA said on Twitter at 7:30 am that trains along the affected lines were continuing but with significant delays in both directions

Previously there was « limited service » on these lines between Brooklyn and Manhattan while the FDNY investigated

The MTA initially asked runners to consider using a 2, 3, 4 or 5 train service between Manhattan and Brooklyn
