The Pittsburgh Steelers should be playing tonight, but there is still a lot to be thanked for.
This is a one-of-a-kind Thanksgiving Day, to say the least. 2020 was a unique year, let’s just leave it at that. Throughout all of this, we faced trials and difficulties. Each person’s individual life has been affected in one way or another by the coronavirus, and it has affected our world in several ways.
Even so, nobody should be surprised that COVID-19 has impacted the NFL season as much as it has. I would be brave enough to say that I’m shocked that it doesn’t have more of an impact than it has been this season.
While the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens are scheduled to play on Thanksgiving night, the game has been rescheduled to Sunday at 1:15 p.m. instead. m. made fans and players frustrated and angry. There is still a lot to thank. . .
As an editor here at BTSC, I am very grateful for these employees that we have put together over the years. I can’t say enough about how professional, businesslike and hardworking these staff are, and it makes our job a million times easier. The site has seen tremendous numbers this year, even during a pandemic, and I can take very little of that credit. No, this credit goes to the staff who publish the high quality content you read every day.
While the site’s growth has been evident, it doesn’t even come close to our podcast platform’s growth this season. In that regard, I can’t say enough about the work everyone who helps on the audio side has gone into making the schedule as smooth as possible, the quality as professional as possible, and the creativity to make each show on its own Way to highlight.
I also have to thank a few people for what they have done for the website this season. Dave Schofield, who not only welcomed me back with open arms before the season, but was the best co-editor I could ever ask for. To Bryan Anthony Davis for the spear as podcast producer, which is not easy and makes sure we all stay at work and are the best we can. For Geoffrey Benedict, Tony Defeo, and Michael Beck, who do double duty as writers and podcasters, your hard work doesn’t go unnoticed. To Shannon White, CHISAP, and even our volunteer writers, the work you’ve done doesn’t go unnoticed.
I’m grateful for the people behind the scenes who help with editing and moderating, allowing me and others to focus on getting the content the best possible while knowing that the community feel always is is still strong and alive.
I am grateful to you, the reader / listener. Without putting your heart and soul into this website every day, it would not be as successful as it has become.
I am grateful for my family, both immediate and extended. The support they have shown me during my journey as a man who ran his own rinky dink website to run the largest fan-run Steelers website on the internet is something I couldn’t do without.
Finally, and perhaps most importantly, I am grateful for the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers are not just a passion, they freak out 10-0 !!!! Sure, I wanted to watch the Thanksgiving night game like everyone else, but the fact that the Steelers are in the driver’s seat at 10-0 for the first time in my life is something I never take for granted. And neither should you!
Something special is happening here, not just for the Steelers on the field. This community is something special. From the authors to the readers, and for that I say THANK YOU !!
