Benny Snell or James Conner are both at times the main characters of the Pittsburgh Steelers in Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts. One player who will not participate in the current game is Anthony McFarland.

The rookie selection for the fourth round was announced on Sunday among the Steelers-Incatives. McFarland missed Friday practice because of what the Steelers listed as « illness » in their league-mandated injury report. « According to the NFL Covid-19 protocols, McFarland has not tested positive for coronavirus, otherwise the Steelers would have put him on the reserve / Covid-19 list.

The Steelers announced on Saturday that linebackers Marcus Allen (Stinger) and Ola Adeniyi (shoulder) and kicker Chris Boswell (groin) would not be available against the Colts. That means Matthew Wright will serve as the Steelers’ kicker for the second time this month. They lost during his December NFL debut. Partly against Washington after coach Mike Tomlin skipped a long field goal attempt that Boswell might otherwise have tried.

The Steelers’ injuries to the linebacker mean that he only backs up Tegray Scales and Jayrone Elliott with the inner and outer linebackers on Sunday.

The Steelers’ healthy scratches are no. 3 quarterback Josh Dobbs and reserve defensive linemen Isaiah Buggs.

The Steelers (11-3) can win the AFC North with a win against the Colts (10-4) who are alive for the AFC South crown. A Steelers defeat combined with a Cleveland Browns win (10-4) against the New York Jets (1-13) will result in a title bout between the Steelers and Browns in Cleveland next week.
