The Pittsburgh Steelers and Indianapolis Colts had an instant classic at Heinz Field in Week 16.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have their game against in week 16. The Indianapolis Colts are leaning in the wrong direction. After losing the last three games, the last defeat against the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday evening at 27:17, the skid was real. The road didn’t get any easier when the 10-4 Colts came to Heinz Field in hopes of securing a playoff spot.

If the Steelers win, they win the AFC North, and after the Colts won the first coin toss, they postponed their holdings to the second half. That meant Ben Roethlisberger and his company stepped onto the field for the game’s inaugural drive. The Steelers’ spending for the first quarter continued with a quick three-and-off.

On the Colts’ first voyage, the Indianapolis offensive line put its will on the Pittsburgh defense. Jonathan Taylor ran with ease as the Colts completed big third down conversions and eventually moved the ball into the red zone. It was Taylor in third place and the goal that stepped into the end zone for the first result of the game. After the aftermath it was 7-0 with 9:48 in the first quarter.

The Steelers’ response was nothing more than a change of field, and Jordan Berry was back on the field to send the ball back to Philip Rivers. A holding game on the punt return put the ball back on the 5-yard line for the Colts’ second drive. With just one first down, the Colts shot the ball away, giving the Pittsburgh offensive their best field position of the game.

The Steelers dated three and more after abandoning a second relegation, and the first quarter ended in a 7-0 result in favor of the visiting Colts.

Ben Roethlisberger threw incomplete in consecutive games, but it was James Conner in third place who plunged into the end zone for the Steelers’ first touchdown.

Matthew Wright’s extra point was good, finishing 7-7 at 1:47 pm in the second quarter.

Just when it looked like the Steelers were settling in and making this a game, the defense gave up another long ride. The Pittsburgh defense was eerily similar to the Colts’ first drive and couldn’t stop Jonathan Taylor. Taylor got nearly 5 yards per run and after a big catch to T. . Y. . Hilton put the Colts in field goal range, with Taylor falling into the end zone for his second touchdown of the game. The score was 14-7 with 6:35 left in the first half.

Another typical Steelers Three and Out returned the ball to the Colts offensive with a tremendous field position. This field position resulted in a second downward bombing by Rivers on Zach Pascal for a 42-yard Colts touchdown, who scored 21-7 in the second quarter with 4:02.

Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers offensive were nearing desperation mode and putting together their best ride of the game, but the ride would end after only two initial losses. At 1:48 in the half, the Colts had the ball back with all three time outs left. A penalty on the second descent put a wrench in motion and half ended with the Colts holding onto a 21-7 lead.

The Colts got the kick-off early in the third quarter, and Philip Rivers and Jonathan Taylor continued to throttle the Steelers’ defense. That 9 game drive was good enough to extend the Colts lead, but a timely sack from Stephon Tuitt on Jan.. and 3. forced a field gate. The kick was good and made it 24-7 with 9:23 in the third quarter.

When the Steelers needed an answer, they finally started targeting Chase Claypool, and it paid off in a big way. The completion of Ben Roethlisberger to the rookie receiver put the Steelers in a first and purposeful situation. In this case, however, the drive stalled. Mike Tomlin, who was left behind at 17, chose not to aim for the field goal on fourth relegation, and the pass destined for James Washington was knocked away because of a turnover in crashes.

Pittsburgh’s defense could pull off a three or more, and it wasn’t long before the offensive hit back. After a return from Ray-Ray McCloud, Roethlisberger met Diontae Johnson for a 39-yard touchdown.

Matthew Wright’s point-after was good, getting the 24:14 result with 3:15 in the third quarter.

The Steelers defense stayed high, took another three and out, bringing the ball straight back to Roethlisberger and the offensive. It wasn’t long before the Steelers struck again. After two defensive pass interference calls brought the ball into the red zone, Roethlisbeger met Eric Ebron for the touchdown.

Rivers and the Colts offensive managed to get closer to midfield before failing in third place and kicking the ball back into the now fiery offensive. Roethlisberger and Company continued their positive games with another great drive. A couple of defensive sentences added to the drive, and it was Roethlisberger with his third touchdown pass, this time to JuJu Smith-Schuster, to give the Steelers the first lead of the game.

Wright’s kick was good and the Steelers led 28-24 7:38 in the fourth quarter.

Suddenly Rivers and the Colts followed for the first time and started pushing. In a second down-pass game, the deep pass was intercepted by Mike Hilton to attack the defense for the second time.

The Steelers had no interest in returning the ball to the Colts, but they did just that at 2:18 in the fourth quarter with no time outs. Steven Nelson started the ride and gave Indianapolis new life. After a 4th. and 7. Place the Rivers pass intended for Pascal was incomplete, which gave the Steelers the victory.
