ENGLEWOOD, Colo. – One of the Broncos’ best offensive players will stay in Denver in 2021 and beyond.

Bolles is Pro Football Focus’ top tackle in 2020 and he hasn’t allowed a sack this season, according to the analytical website.

« I’ve had rocky years here and my goal is to be a consistent player that [football operations president / general manager] Mr.. . [John] Elway and this organization can count on for many years, « Bolles said in November. 24. « I want to be here for a long time – I love the city, I love this fan base, my teammates, I love everything about it and I just want to win. «

Head coach Vic Fangio owed Bolles’ perseverance his impressive turnaround in his fourth season in the league.

« He’s had a great off-season, » said Fangio this week. « He held on to it, not letting the outside noise, sometimes appropriate, hold back his determination to keep improving. I think he will finally be rewarded for this approach. He was a guy with a limited background and I knew it would take time. He and [Offensive Line Coach] Mike [Munchak] and ‘Kupe’ [Assistant OL Coach Chris Kuper] took time and recognition to bring him with them. I’ve always liked Garett. He and I talk a lot and I’m happy for him. «

Bolles, a 28-year-old player, made a detour to the NFL playing two seasons at junior college before spending a single season at the University of Utah. He received the First Team All-Pac 12 award during his lonely season with the Utes before signing up for the 2017 NFL Draft.

The 6-foot-5,299-pound player earned his starting job as a rookie and was named to the Pro Football Writers of America all-rookie team.

In 2020, Bolles was able to earn his first Pro Bowl nod, but said he wasn’t focused on individual accomplishments.

« It’s always nice to get those commendations and things like that, but at the same time, I’m not really worried about it, » Bolles said this week. « I’m just worried that I can play great football on Sundays and help this team win games. « . «

The Broncos’ offensive line may now have a high degree of continuity in 2021. Dalton Risner, Lloyd Cushenberry III and Graham Glasgow are all under contract until at least 2022, and Ja’Wuan James, who de-signed in 2020, also remains under contract.

Barron, who played security early in his career, has played 119 career games with a total of nine interceptions, 42 defended passes, five forced fiddles, 12 sacks and 710 tackles.

The Broncos have also removed three players from their training team, including Josh Watson as a COVID-19 replacement.
