He accompanied it with a note stating that Meadows was diagnosed with colon cancer at age 39 and eventually succumbed to the disease last Wednesday.

Melvin described his older brother as a Baptist minister, an entrepreneur, and added that he was one of the best people anyone could ever know. Meadows was also a husband and father of two children.

Expressing grief, the television personality noted that colon cancer was stealing a good life from Meadows, but added that his older brother had raised awareness of the disease in recent years.
