The Atlanta Falcons announced on Saturday that quarterback Kurt Benkert was added to their active squad as the COVID-19 Flex for Sunday’s game against the new Orleans Saints.
It’s the first time Benkert has been named to the active squad for a game this season, but the Falcons have often used one of their protection troops for him throughout the year. Benkert has been on the team since signing as a vacant college free agent from Virginia.
There are no known injuries to Matt Ryan or Matt Schaub, meaning Benkert should be added to the day’s depth map as the third quarterback.
The move comes just two days after Atlanta put Dante Fowler’s defensive end on that list.
Fowler has 17 combined tackles, six quarterback hits and two sacks in eight games for the Falcons this season
In addition to taking Dennard off the injured reserve, the Falcons have put Jordan Miller on IR
By designating Dennard to return, the Denncons started the 21-day window in which they must activate him for the active roster.
Since Cominsky is removed from the reserve / COVID-19 list, the Falcons no longer have players under this name.
Falcons announce that a linebacker has been added to the active squad ahead of Thursday’s game against the Panthers.
The falcons and lions start at 1pm. m. ET on Sunday in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium
Atlanta continues to plan to travel to Minnesota to play the game on Sunday, which is expected to take place.
The Falcons also sign cornerback Tyler Hall to the active squad and linebacker James Burgess to the training team
