The state of Mississippi probably couldn’t have played this game anymore. If they have 53 players, the bare minimum to travel under SEC logs, Mike Leach could probably have just told someone with a gimpy hamstring that he was just a little gimpier and stayed home in Starkville for the History Channel to see.

The fact that the Bizarro Bulldogs are currently in Classic City means their pirate leader has instead decided to try a depleted squad against a team that could end the year in the top ten. He won’t do that and will play it near the vest. It’s never conservative, but it certainly won’t go into its shell in this setup. Georgia is about to encounter a team that is running away from the police on two good tires and not ready to go back to jail, man.

Either the State of Mississippi will have nothing to lose, play it easy and bring this game closer than it should, or they will be so utterly disappointed that objective viewers will feel sorry for them. I really don’t see any intermediate scenario. Which result is decisive? No idea. But I can’t wait to find out.
