For most families, a half-leg ham is enough for Christmas, and this simple celebratory recipe is the ideal centerpiece for your festive table. It takes just 20 minutes to prepare and is full of festive flavors like jam, thyme, and tarragon. The whole family is guaranteed to love it.
Preheat the oven to 180 ° C. Use a small sharp knife to cut around the neck of the ham, which will be peeled off the skin with your fingertips. Cut the ham fat in parallel lines 2 cm apart.
Mix the brown sugar, honey, barbecue sauce, lime juice, mustard and paprika in a medium-sized saucepan and let it work over a moderate heat. Simmer for 10 minutes until it has thickened, then spread it on the ham.
Bake the ham for 1½ hours, cover with parchment paper after 45 minutes or when the glaze begins to darken.
Cut the 1 cm thick vegetables and toss them with the butter, golden syrup, sherry, vinegar and thyme. Season with salt and pepper. Arrange in a frying pan and bake for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Mix in the tarragon and serve with the ham.
