BENEVENTO, Italy: Juventus, Serie A defending champions, suffered a 1-1 draw against newly promoted Benevento on Saturday after finishing his talisman striker Cristiano Ronaldo.
Alvaro Morata brought Juventus after a majestic pass from Federico Chiesa in the 21st. Minute lead, but Gaetano Letizia faced Benevento during the break in the first half and shot the ball home after Arthur’s poor distance landed at his feet.
Despite having more possession in the second half, Juventus couldn’t find a way through the Benevento defense in an increasingly tricky game and Morata was sent off in added time.
With 17 points from nine games, Turin are fifth, three behind leaders AC Milan, who will be at home in Fiorentina on Sunday. Benevento is in the midfield with 10 points.
