The New York Knicks are fun. That statement alone is worth talking about. After missing the playoffs for seven seasons in a row, sacking another head coach last December and redesigning the front office again, it seemed like 2020-21 would be a season in which to deal with the consequences of pressing the reset button would have to deal.
And while it could be a year of losses, the Knicks under coach Tom Thibodeau play a spirited and exciting kind of basketball.
New York won another fun game on Monday, defeating the Atlanta Hawks on 113-108. The last time the Knicks played in Atlanta was just as the league closed due to the pandemic.
In their last win, almost ten months later in the shadow of COVID, they saw some amazing statistical performances.
New York’s 4-3 record marks the second-best start since 2001. You read that right: this is one of their best starts in the last twenty years. They started 6-1 during that magical 2012-13 season. And they were 4-3 in 2008/09.
As Knicks fans watch her hot start, they fall more in love with rookie Immanuel Quickley every night. RJ Barrett begins to break out. And something made Julius Randle about the second coming of LeBron James.
