Matt Campbell spoke of this unique Big 12 Conference football season in the form of three pods with three games.

The first two have been completed, and his 16th Iowa State Cyclones (5-2, 5-1, Big 12) stand alone at the top of the league.

4:24 p. m. : It’s Pad-Your-Stats and Add-To-Your-Highlight-Role-Day at Jack Trice Stadium. Breece Hall both completed a beautiful 21-yard touchdown run to bring Iowa State to 35 Rock. – TH

4:04 p. m. : The router, it seems, is on. Iowa State leads 21-0 after Brock Purdy’s 21-yard pass to Xavier Hutchinson 6:38 before half. Iowa State only dominates the game today. – TH

3:47 p. m. : Will McDonald with the tremendous pressure down. He showed up great this fall. He will soon be paid to play on Sundays. Cyclones that control it in every way: 14-0 in the middle of the second quarter. – Zack Creglow

3:40 p. m. : Purdy’s wonderful afternoon continues with a 6 yard pass to Charlie Kolar in the back of the end zone. Purdy is 7-on-7 for 114 yards and two touchdowns after the first game of the second quarter. It’s 14-0 cy. – Peterson

3:24 p. m. : Iowa State’s brilliant goal-line score prevented Kansas State from tying the game. Lawrence White and Will McDonald teamed up in fourth and second places to stop freshman quarterback Will Howard for a one-yard loss. Fast core through Cy’s offensive, followed by a great position at the gate. Still 7-Zip ISU. – RP

3:11 p. m. : Well that was quick. Iowa State made Kansas State’s defense easy on its inaugural drive, walking 75 yards in six games to take a 7-0 lead in just three minutes. Brock Purdy was 3 of 3 on the trip, and his 33 yard throw to Joe Scates was responsible for the touchdown. Great start for the home team. – Travis Hines

2:23 p. m: Iowa State defender Arnold Azunna won’t be playing on Saturday for an unknown reason. The senior started three games, essentially alternating with Isheem Young. Azunna was on the sidelines warming up on Saturday while his teammates stretched before the game. – Randy Peterson
