OROVILLE – A PG&E power outage will affect areas in Oroville on Saturday night to allow work teams to move overnight.
The failure lasts from 10 a.m.. m. Saturday until 5 a.m.. m. Sunday morning and means no electricity for most residents in the Oroville, Palermo, and Berry Creek areas.
According to PG&E, the work teams will be removing a transmission line near a substation in South Oroville. The outage is necessary so the company can remove a number of transmission lines that cross another transmission line and four distribution lines near the Wyandotte substation on Faunce Way in south Oroville.
The company has pre-reached with the city of Oroville, Butte County and critical agencies such as Oroville Hospital and contacted customers who will be affected. The failure will be more than 16. 000 households and businesses, mainly in Oroville and areas without legal personality in the south and east.
« We apologize for any inconvenience this downtime may cause and have worked hard to keep the downtime as short as possible so that the crews can safely complete this work, » said Carl Schoenhofer, Senior Manager of North Valley Division of PG&E.
