COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Department of Health reported Wednesday Jan.. 835 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total since the outbreak to 437. 928 elevated state.
It’s the second day that more than 100 deaths have been reported. On Tuesday there were 119. The record is a week ago today when it was 156.
The number of cases has not been reported as the Ohio Department of Health calls every positive antigen test to learn more about the patient’s symptoms. Antigen tests were considered less accurate than the genetic PCR tests, although Gov. . Mike DeWine said Monday that the state’s screening practice will end soon, under the guidance of the federal centers for disease control and prevention.
– The number of hospitalizations of people with COVID-19 on Wednesday (Jan.. 208) is lower than on Tuesday (5. 234), a revised number. Wednesday’s number is also likely to change in the coming days to better reflect the day’s admissions and layoffs.
-Ohio hospitals are 75. 5% full when considering COVID-19 and patients with other medical conditions. Capacity has stayed around 75% for the past few days, although there are some regional differences.
-18. 9% of the coronavirus tests were positive on Monday. Monday is the last day for which the state published a positivity rate. The 7 day moving average positivity rate is 15. 1%. Ohio recommends people traveling from states with a 7-day average of 15% positivity or higher quarantine for 14 days. The state is now in this plane.
-34. 413 new coronavirus tests were conducted between Tuesday and Wednesday. This number only reflects PRC and molecular tests by Ohio residents that were voluntarily reported to the Ohio Department of Health.
