The West Indies cricket team will arrive in Dhaka early Sunday for an ODI and a two-game test series against the hosts starting January 20th.
This series will be after a Break from Covid-19 will be the first international meeting of the cricket team in Bangladesh, reports UNB.

On the same day after the arrival of the West Indies, Bangladesh will begin its official training program before the tour.
All members of the Bangladeshi team were took a Covid-19 test on Thursday and all tested negative. They will take another test on Saturday and those who return negative will attend the training.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) must adhere to a strict health safety protocol throughout the series to protect all cricketers, staff and other stakeholders from a Protecting Covid-19 infection.
« We take this seriously. We recently hosted two national events – the BCB President’s Cup and the Bangabandhu T20 Cup – while creating a bio-safe bubble for cricketers. So we know how to do it, « said Akram Khan, Chairman of the BCB Cricket Operations Committee on Saturday.
Unlike Australia, Bangladesh will not allow spectators into the stadium during this series. « BCB is still debating the issue and is considering not admitting viewers while keeping health safety in mind, » said Akram.
The series begins with the first ODI on January 20 at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium , while the second ODI will take place on January 22nd.
The third ODI will be played in Chattogram on January 25th, and the first test will also take place in the port city from February 3rd. Both teams will return to Dhaka from February 11th to play the final test.
After the Covid-19 hiatus, the West Indies played two series – against England and New Zealand – while the Bangladeshi team has not yet played international cricket has returned.
