A woman died after her car was rolled over on the Kennedy Highway south of Cairns on Friday morning.
Emergency services were called just before 6 a.m. in Innot Hot Springs, where the victim, a woman, crashed from Mount Garnet in her thirties, sustained serious injuries.
Police said the woman was driving west on the freeway in the SUV at around 5:40 am when she lost control and the vehicle rolled.
The Deputy Police Commissioner Steve Gollschewski reminded drivers Thursday that Easter was a high risk time on the roads.
This year, 74 people were killed on the streets of Brisbane – 26 more than at the time last year.
