World news – Worlds of DC gives Justice Society superhero a new movie

Now that Zack Snyder’s Justice League is here, it’s time to look to the future of Worlds of DC – and that means new movies for new superheroes.

There are reports that there are plans for an adaptation of the comic Hourman underway. Led by Warner Bros and DC Films, Chernin Entertainment will jump on board as a producer for the Hourman Adventure. Gavin James and Neil Widener will write the script (via Deadline).

Justice Society member Hourman first appeared in comic book canon in the 1940s and made his debut on the Stargirl series. The hero had three different incarnations, especially as the son of the chemist Rex Tyler, Rick.

After Rex Tyler created a synthesis called « Miraclo », he is in possession of superpower and endurance – but only for an hour. Ultimately, however, it is his son Rick who becomes the hero we have come to know and love as the Hourman.

This is not the first time the Hourman has come to life in the worlds of DC. The hero was previously seen in both Legends of Tomorrow and the new Stargirl series. We’ll have to wait and see if a similar version to the one we’ve seen before will make the film.

In other DC-related news, Zack Snyder’s almost mythical cut of the Justice League has finally been released. The four-hour spectacle was well received by fans and critics alike, but some have questioned the film’s aspect ratio.
