Weltnachrichten – AU – Proteas’ COVID all clear, but Pretorius out

. . South Africa's players have received the all-clear after further COVID-19 tests, save for two still isolated ones, but Dwaine Pretorius is injured.

. .

South Africa’s limited overs team has received the all-clear after a third round of COVID-19 testing on the eve of the opening game against England in Newlands.

However, the Proteas have lost all-rounder Dwaine Pretorius to a thigh injury, in which he will not only miss the T20 opener on Friday, but all six games.

The two South African players who tested positive last week were not part of the group tested and are still being monitored in isolation, a statement from Cricket South Africa said in a statement.

The possibility of infection in the South African camp threatened the English tour with six games at one point.

The two countries play twenty-three international games and three ODIs in Newlands and Paarl.

Pretorius, 31, with 22 ODI caps, suffered a thigh injury while training in Newlands and is expected to be out for a month. No replacement will be named, added CSA.
